Course Description

This beginner-level video series introduces the core principles of developmental kinesiology and shows how to apply them using the Kayezen VECTOR resistance system. Presented by Clare Frank, PT, DPT, and Drew Morcos, PT, DPT, the course walks through VECTOR-based exercises across the full range of developmental positions — supine, prone, quadruped, sidelying, seated, kneeling, and standing — with the goal of helping clinicians build clients' postural control and movement quality from the ground up.

Developmental kinesiology draws on the sequence of movement patterns humans acquire in early development — patterns that remain the foundation for efficient, coordinated movement throughout life. By training within these positions using the VECTOR's adjustable resistance, clinicians can address movement dysfunction at its root rather than only at the site of symptoms.

This course is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and chiropractors looking for a practical, position-based framework to integrate resistance training into rehabilitation and performance programs. No prior experience with the VECTOR system or developmental kinesiology is required.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Define developmental kinesiology and describe its role in guiding posture and movement.
  2. Identify the developmental positions used in the framework (supine, prone, quadruped, sidelying, seated, kneeling, standing).
  3. Describe basic setup and resistance adjustment of the Kayezen VECTOR system.
  4. Recognize how VECTOR-based exercises apply within each developmental position to support movement control.
  5. List example beginner-level exercises appropriate to a given developmental position.

COURSE requires purchase of Kayezen Vector System (Included in price) - $395

Dr Clare Frank DPT, OCS

I have always been fascinated by movements and capabilities of the human body. I grew up in Malaysia, where I dedicated most of my childhood playing competitive badminton. My days were filled with hours of rigorous training and conditioning, all of which prepared me to win numerous state and national competitions. Shortly after representing Malaysia in the International Women’s Uber Cup Championships (equivalent to Davis Cup in tennis), I left to study physiotherapy at Northern Illinois University (NIU), through a sports scholarship. While at NIU, I received All-American honors and the distinguished Broderick Award (now known as Honda Award) in badminton.

My physiotherapy career began in Los Angeles, where I still continue to practice. As a strong proponent of life-long learning, I pursued an Advanced Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy and Biokinesiology at the University of Southern California and later on, an Advanced Standing doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences. I have been privileged to study under the tutelage of some of the pioneers in the movement system and functional medicine, namely, Shirley Sahrmann, PT, PhD, Vladimir Janda, MD, Karel Lewit, MD, and Pavel Kolar PT, PhD. Their profound impact on my professional life has inspired me to integrate various rehabilitative and pain science approaches into my current practice, as well as educating and empowering those around me.

I have been given many opportunities to share my area of expertise in the movement system to impact many clinicians both in the U.S. and internationally. I still maintain a limited practice at a clinic in the Los Angeles area (Pasadena) where I provide in-person consultations, when I am not lecturing or mentoring at hospitals, clinics and universities.

With years of experience treating professional athletes in the NFL, NBA and World’s Strongest Man, Drew founded MOTUS to bring his innovative approach to clinical rehabilitation to all active people. Drew was formally the Physical Therapist of the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2022-2023 NBA Season, helping lead the team the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Drew is the founder of MOTUS, a functional movement approach to clinical rehabilitation for professional athletes to youth athletes to weekend warriors and everyone in between. Prior to opening his own practice, he was the Director of Rehabilitation at the University of Southern California-Athletic Medicine Department for 5 years. He continues to serve as an Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Physical Therapy for the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC.

Drew earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from USC followed by completion of a residency in Orthopaedics and a fellowship in Sports Physical Therapy through Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles.

Drew possesses a very unique combination of experience from both hands-on and instructor roles. He is a sought-after athletic trainer and physical therapist in the NFL, NBA, Division 1 Athletics, USA Indoor Volleyball, USA/AVP Beach Volleyball and the World’s Strongest Man Competition.

Drew serves on the board of context experts to design item questions for the Sports Clinical Specialist exam. He is also a clinical instructor for the Kaiser Permanente Sports Fellowship program and Azusa Pacific University Physical Therapy Department. Lastly, he was the primary Clinical Instructor for the USC Division 1 Sports Fellowship program, one of only three programs in the nation.
